What types of private events can I host at the Central Park Boathouse?
From intimate occasions to larger celebrations, the Central Park Boathouse hosts a variety of private events, including weddings, corporate gatherings, social celebrations, nonprofit galas, and private dinners.
What event spaces are available for private events?
Our venue offers two private event spaces:
- The Lake Room: features panoramic lake and Central Park views for larger celebrations.
- Fireside Room: an intimate setting for smaller gatherings.
Restaurant buyouts and other exclusive event opportunities may also be available, please contact our events team to find the space that best fits your event.
How many guests can each event space accommodate?

Can I host my wedding ceremony at the Central Park Boathouse?
Yes. The Central Park Boathouse is a full-service wedding venue, and ceremonies are hosted inside The Lake Room, followed by a seamless transition into your reception within the same space.
Does The Boathouse provide in-house catering and beverage service?
Yes. All food and beverage are provided exclusively by our culinary and events team, with customizable menus and beverage packages available to suit your event style and preferences.
Can menus be customized to accommodate dietary restrictions or special requests?
Yes. Our culinary team can accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests whenever possible. We’ll work with you to create a menu that reflects your event vision while aligning with our kitchen capabilities.
Is there a food and beverage minimum or venue rental fee?
Food and beverage minimums and venue fees vary based on the event space, date, time, and season. Our Events team will provide customized pricing based on your event details.
What is required to reserve an event date?
A signed contract and initial deposit are required to reserve your event date. Once received, your date will be confirmed and our Events team will begin coordinating the next steps.
How far in advance can I book my event?
We recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred date, especially for weddings and peak season events. Availability varies throughout the year, and our events team can help you explore available dates and booking options.
Can I bring in outside vendors, such as florists, photographers, or entertainment?
Yes. Outside vendors are welcome and subject to approval by our Events team. All vendors must provide a certificate of insurance prior to the event.
How do I schedule a tour of the venue?
Tours are offered by appointment only and based on venue availability and scheduled events. Please contact our events team through our inquiry form to schedule a visit.
How do guests get to the Central Park Boathouse, and is parking available?
The Central Park Boathouse is located within Central Park and is most easily accessed via the East 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue entrance, followed by a short walk to the venue. Guests arriving by taxi or rideshare should be dropped off at East 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue. Click HERE for directions.
Shuttle transportation is included for events held in the Lake Room. Our in-park shuttle service provides convenient transportation for guests to and from the venue. The events team can provide additional information on shuttle details for your event.
Limited on-site parking and vehicle access are available by permit only for events. All access, including vendor load-in/load-out and transportation, must be arranged in advance through the Events team.
